      Lexington Minimum Wage

The minimum wage in Lexington is $7.25 an hour. The city of Lexington passed an ordinance setting a higher local minimum wage ($8.20, to start) in 2015. After this ordinance was passed, however, Kentucky's Supreme Court found that cities and local governments don't have the right to raise the minimum wage. As a result, Lexington employees are entitled only to the federal minimum wage, currently $7.25.
