What is Your State's Rate of Transmission?
This timely resource measures the ALL IMPORTANT RT rate for COVID-19 in your state.
The RT rate is the rate of community spread. In other countries they call it simply, the R rate, meaning the Reproductive rate. An RT rate of 1.0 means every one person gives the virus to one other person. If the RT rate goes above 1, the disease starts spreading exponentially. For example, a RT rate of 2 means that one person gives it to two other people, who, in turn, give it to two more people each.
An RT rate of 0.9 keeps things about steady, on a downward trend.
An RT rate of 0.5 can wipe out the virus completely.
