It's not too late to sign up for 2021 health coverage under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you can get covered in New Jersey through May 15, 2021.

To choose a plan, you can go directly to the online health insurance marketplace for New Jersey. If you need personalized help, you can reach out to an enrollment assistant. Most enrollment helpers are working remotely during the COVID crisis.

Where's the New Jersey Health Care Exchange?

You can find New Jersey's health insurance exchange at GetCoveredNJ. This new marketplace for New Jerseyans is where you can learn about the various health insurance options available to you under the Affordable Care Act. If you see a plan you like, you'll be guided through the enrollment process online.

Getting Personalized Help with Enrollment

In New Jersey, if you need help understanding your options for coverage under Obamacare or signing up for a plan, you can get assistance from a trained enrollment assister or from a health insurance broker or agent. Both are free.

A certified enrollment assister can explain your options, answer your questions, and help you apply for the plan you choose -- but they can't recommend a specific plan for you.

To find an assister in your area, go to Find Local Assistance at GetCoveredNJ.

Licensed health insurance agents or brokers can also help you understand your health care coverage options under Obamacare. Unlike government-trained assisters and counselors, brokers and agents are allowed to suggest the best plan for you. Being allowed to "cut to the chase" this way can help make the process more efficient for you and take less time.

To directly connect with a New Jersey insurance broker who can help you evaluate insurance plans and choose a plan that's appropriate for your situation, call 800-943-6832. (We receive advertising income from the licensed brokers who offer their services through this telephone number.)

General Information. If you just want information, not advice, about your Obamacare options, you can talk with someone at the New Jersey Center for Family Services Hotline: 877-962-8448.
