To sign up for a health plan under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) you can go directly to the online health insurance marketplace for Wyoming. If you need personalized help, you can reach out to one of the many types of enrollment assistants working remotely during the COVID-19 crisis.

For 2021 health plans, Wyoming open enrollment runs from November 1 until December 15, 2020. If you enroll by December 15, your coverage will begin on January 1, 2021.

Enrollment for 2020 health coverage has ended, but you can get covered for the rest of the year if you qualify for a special enrollment period, including job loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Getting Personalized Help with Enrollment

In Wyoming, if you need help understanding your options for coverage under Obamacare or signing up for a plan, you can get assistance from a trained enrollment assister or from a licensed health insurance broker or agent. Both are free.

A certified enrollment assister can explain your options, answer your questions, and help you apply for the plan you choose -- but they can't recommend a specific plan for you.

To find an assister in your area, go to Find Local Help at HealthCare.gov. There, you can enter your zip code to get a list of helpers near you.

Licensed health insurance agents or brokers can also help you understand your health care coverage options under Obamacare. Unlike government-trained assisters and counselors, brokers and agents are allowed to suggest the best plan for you. Being allowed to "cut to the chase" this way can help make the process more efficient for you and take less time.
