Current Minimum Wage in Oregon

The federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) sets the “floor” minimum wage for eligible workers in the U.S. But, many states and some local governments set their own minimum wage. Workers are entitled to be paid the highest minimum wage that applies where they work, whether it is set by federal, state, or local law.

The minimum wage in Oregon is $9.25 an hour. Because this is higher than the federal minimum wage of $7.25, employees in Oregon must be paid at least $9.25 an hour.

Oregon also has local minimum wages. In both the Portland Urban Growth Boundary and in non-urban counties, the minimum wage is currently set at $9.25 an hour. If either the state or local minimum wage increases, employees will be entitled to earn the highest applicable minimum amount where they work.
