It's not too late to sign up for 2021 health coverage under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Biden administration is reopening health plan enrollment from February 15 to August 15, 2021.
To get covered, you can go directly to the online health insurance marketplace for Arizona. If you need personalized help, you can reach out to an enrollment assistant. Most enrollment helpers are working remotely during the COVID crisis.
Where's the Arizona Health Care Exchange?
You can find the health insurance exchange for Arizona at Healthcare.gov. This is where you can learn about the various health insurance options available to you under the Affordable Care Act. If you see a plan you like, you'll be guided through the enrollment process online.
Getting Personalized Help with Enrollment
In Arizona, if you need help understanding your options for coverage under Obamacare or signing up for a plan, you can get assistance from a trained enrollment assister or from a licensed health insurance broker or agent. Both are free.
A certified enrollment assister can explain your options, answer your questions, and help you apply for the plan you choose -- but they can't recommend a specific plan for you.
To find an assister in your area, go to Find Local Help at HealthCare.gov. There, you can enter your zip code to get a list of helpers near you.
Licensed health insurance agents or brokers can also help you understand your health care coverage options under Obamacare. Unlike government-trained assisters and counselors, brokers and agents are allowed to suggest the best plan for you. Being allowed to "cut to the chase" this way can help make the process more efficient for you and take less time.
To directly connect with a Arizona insurance broker who can help you evaluate insurance plans and choose a plan that's appropriate for your situation, call 800-943-6832. (We receive advertising income from the licensed brokers who offer their services through this telephone number.)
Talk to HealthCare.gov. If you just want information, not advice, about your Obamacare options, you can talk with a telephone support representative at HealthCare.gov.
Individuals and families. The toll-free number to call for help is 1-800-318-2596. If you're hearing impaired, please use the TTY line: 1-855-889-4325.
Small businesses or insurance agents. If you have a business with 50 or fewer employees, or if you are an insurance agent or broker, you can get help by calling 1-800-706-7893 (TTY: 1-888-201-6445).
